| Long Life Halogen Flood Bulbs 50 watt and 85 watts- $10 each
We use Halogen Flood bulbs extensively in our facility. They are terrific basking and visual lighting bulbs, and given a proper cage setup, we can easily pull 140°F+ basking surface temps (for our lizard setups) using just a single 50 watt Halogen Flood. Temperature gradients down to 75°F are easily achieved by varying bulb distance just a few inches.
For larger reptiles like adult Blackthroat monitors that are 6 ft long,you will get better results using a "bank" or triangulation of three 50w Halogen Floods than you will with one "monster watt" bulb.
Our 50w and 85w Halogen Floods are super economical, and these particular PE Halogens ARE NOT the regular Halogen bulbs you find at Home Depot for $8! These are LONG LIFE HALOGENS, with 5000 life hours, which is triple the average life of regular Halogens. We typically see a year's worth of regular use from these Halogens, versus barely 3 months with the regular Halogen bulbs. Don't waste your money and risk a fire hazard running some 250 watt monster, set up your cage correctly and maximize wattage AND value with lower wattage PE Halogen bulbs! These bulbs have a standard base, and fit regular "lamp style" fixtures as well as clip lamps.
