The story behind the "What the SH!T Dwayne!" shirt

The Pro Exotics facility suffered utter devastation on Monday morning, September 26th, 2011. Robyn@PE got a call from the alarm company at 5:45 a.m. that smoke was pouring out of the building. He arrived at the facility at 6:10 a.m. to find the smoke increasing and fire crews on the scene.

After taking a few moments to digest the surreal nature of this life-changing event, Robyn started posting updates on the Pro Exotics Facebook page. The first post was "The Pro Exotics facility is burning."

Dwayne "liked" it. Someone made a screen capture of this awkward moment. Updates and pics of the fire were posted throughout the day. The reptile community has been tremendously supportive.

A few days after the fire, we found this "What the SH!T Dwayne?" image on an online forum. We posted it in good humor to the Pro Exotics Facebook page, and it took on a life of its own. A dozen people suggested "this would make a great t-shirt," and so here we are.

We are raising money for our recovery effort with the Pro Exotics "Dwayne" t-shirt. Read the full series of fire updates and pics at our Pro Exotics Facebook page. The first post starts early Monday morning, September 26th.

We are so grateful to the outpouring of support and love we have received during this trying time. There have been horrible moments, and there have been wonderful moments. Dwayne has provided a hilarious moment, and we appreciate the smiles he has generated. Thanks Dwayne : )

Who is Dwayne? Dwayne is a fan of the Pro Exotics facebook page, and happened to be browsing our feed when the fire started, catching Robyn's first post. He "liked" it as a show of support, not in a cynical way. He is a reptile fan, and now a reptile legend.
